We, the members of The Aberdeen Independence Party, believe in the power of technology and progress to improve the lives of all citizens. We are committed to the development of transhumanist technologies and the digitization of government services and documents in order to create a more efficient and accessible government for all. We also stand for socialist ideals, which include fair distribution of wealth and opportunities, and the protection of the rights and welfare of all citizens.
The name of the party shall be The Aberdeen Independence Party. The purpose of the party shall be to promote the adoption of transhumanist technologies and the digitization of government services and documents in order to create a more efficient and accessible government for all. Additionally, we will fight for socialist ideals, including fair distribution of wealth and opportunities, and the protection of the rights and welfare of all citizens.
Any person who supports the goals and ideals of the party as outlined in the preamble and Article I may apply for membership. The party shall have the right to accept or reject any application for membership.
The party shall have the following officers: a Chairperson, a Secretary, and a Treasurer. The party shall have a National Executive Committee (NEC) consisting of the officers and at least five additional members, elected by the party members every two years. All elections within the party shall be held using the ranked pairs electoral system. The NEC shall be responsible for the day-to-day management of the party and for implementing its policies and programs.
The party shall have an annual conference at which members shall discuss and vote on party policies and programs. The NEC shall have the power to make decisions on urgent matters between conferences.
The party shall be financed through membership fees, donations, and other lawful means. The party's finances shall be managed by the Treasurer, and shall be subject to regular audits.
The party may be dissolved by a vote of two-thirds of the members at a special conference called for that purpose. In the event of dissolution, the party's assets shall be distributed to a political party or parties with similar goals and ideals.
This constitution may be amended by a vote of an absolute majority of the members present at a regular or special conference called for that purpose.
Any proposed amendments must be submitted in writing to the NEC at least 30 days before the conference at which they will be considered.
The NEC shall have the power to make recommendations on proposed amendments, but the final decision shall be made by a vote of the members at the conference.
